File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard network protocol used to exchange and manipulate files over a TCP/IP-based network, such as the internet. In simpler terms, FTP offers a convenient and fast way to upload or download files to and from your server.
To establish an FTP connection, you need an FTP account on the server. Think of it as a username and password combination that authorizes access to your website files.

The Default FTP Account
When your hosting account with TrexHost is set up, a default FTP account is created automatically. This account provides access to the main /www/ folder of your TrexHost hosting account, giving you full control over all your website files.
Creating Additional FTP Accounts
You’re not limited to just one account. You can create additional FTP accounts through the FTP Manager section of your Control Panel (found under Files > FTP Accounts).
Why Create Multiple FTP Accounts?
The key advantage of creating separate FTP accounts lies in the access path setting. For each new FTP account, you can define a specific folder (and its subfolders) that the user can access. All other folders remain completely inaccessible.
